Mark your calendar for Friday, September 11, 7pm, for a special screening of the extraordinary film Numen, a documentary focusing on the healing power of plants, to be shown on a big screen at the Frelinghuysen Arboretum in Morris Township. The fee is $5, and popcorn will be served. 

Containing thought-provoking interviews with noted doctors and herbalists, Numen appeals to gardeners, plant lovers, environmentalists, and everyone concerned with their health and the health of our planet.  “Numen is Latin for “the presiding spirit or divinity of a place,’ ” noted Lesley Parness, the arboretum’s superintendent of horticultural education, “and this film reminds us that throughout mankind’s history, our relationship with plants played a role in every aspect of our lives.” The film seeks to have us deepen our relationship with the natural world and remember the healing made possible by re-embracing our place in the wider web of life. Those who view it are eligible to receive 1.5 Rutgers Master Gardener CEUs.
